Frequently Asked Questions
How do I activate a cloud license offline?
Many customer computers will not have direct internet access. In those cases, cloud licenses can still be used by transferring a license certificate to a computer with access.
How do I perform a device move or "jump instrument"?
Moving the instrument to a new position and locating it to the first is simple. Right-Clicking on the instrument and selecting "Jump" will add a new instrument and connect to it. Then the user can measure reference points and run a best fit alignment. For more details see here.
How do I align a cloud to a CAD model or Mesh?
If a model has been imported, the Cloud to CAD/Mesh alignment will automatically choose that model then the user will select the corresponding cloud. If fine-tuning of the alignment is necessary guide points can always be added. See here.
How do I evaluate GD&T in Inspire?
First, the user needs to declare what features are the datums, which can be done in the properties panel of a feature. Then within the criteria panel of the feature to be evaluated, there is an option to add a GD&T to that feature. More details are here.
How do it create a new coordinate frame?
This option is available from Analysis > Create Coordinate Frame in the ribbon menu. This will allow the user to add different features to define the primary, secondary and tertiary/origin axes for the frame. More detail can be found here.
